Cecilia Flores Rueda, FCIArb, after collaborating in large national and international law firms, founded her own dispute resolution boutique (2015), where she participates as arbitrator and counsel in complex and large-scale cases. Leveraging her extensive career in international arbitration, she founded Real Hearing (2019), a full-service company for arbitration hearings.
She obtained a Law Degree with honors from the Universidad Panamericana (1999). At said University she also completed postgraduate studies in International Trade Law (2020). She obtained her Master's Degree in International Law with honors, at the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (2005). As a Folssom Scholarship recipient, she attended the Center for American and International Law's Academy for American and International Law in Dallas, TX (2008). She has completed several diplomas and has obtained certifications in subjects such as: (i) Energy from the Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídcas de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (2018); (ii) Anti-Corruption by the International Chamber of Commerce (2019); and (iii) Valuation of Companies by the Club Español del Arbitraje (2022). She successfully passed the Specialization Course in Administrative Law for Arbitrators (2019) and is currently taking the State Contracting Course, both taught by the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP).
She has been recognized as one of the best lawyers, in Chambers Latin America, Leaders League and Who's Who Legal, in the categories of International Arbitration and Litigation. In 2014, Cecilia was awarded by the Inter-American Arbitration Commission (CIAC) for her outstanding career in arbitration and in 2022 by the Court of Arbitration of Madrid and the Asociación de Mujeres Empresarias of Madrid. Also in 2022, the Foro Jurídico magazine recognized her as one of the Most Influential Lawyers in Mexico.
Maria Ximena is a lawyer with 14 years of experience, specializing in litigation and conflict resolution, admitted to practice both in Colombia and New York State. She currently holds the position of Litigation Counsel at Uber for the Central America, Andean, and Caribbean regions. Previously, she worked as a Senior Associate at prominent law firms in Bogotá, such as Muñoz Tamayo y Asociados, focusing on litigation and public law. Maria Ximena has also gained experience in both the private and public sectors, having worked at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington DC as a consultant for corporate affairs and labor relations and at the Government Secretariat of Bogotá as Chief of Staff. She holds a law degree from Universidad de los Andes, in Colombia as well as an LLM from New York University and an MBA from Imperial College London, where she graduated with honors.
